10‑Day Itinerary

Itinerary — Day‑by‑day (Base program, apply for May / June / July–August)

Day 1 — Depart USA / Arrive Barcelona

Morning: Group meet at BWI (Baltimore/Washington Int’l). Group check‑in 3 hours before departure.

Flight: BWI → BCN (overnight / daytime depending on airline).

Evening: Arrival at Barcelona El Prat. Meet the local coach / transfer to student residence / hotel. Orientation walk near accommodation. Early dinner & lights‑out.

Day 2 — Barcelona (Gaudí & Gothic Quarter)

Morning: Guided walking tour of the Gothic Quarter (history & architecture).

Late morning: Visit La Sagrada Família (timed, pre‑booked group tickets).

Lunch: Packed/group lunch or local sandwich stop.

Afternoon: Park Güell (monumental zone) + Gaudí architectural session.

Evening: Tapas introduction or paella workshop (group activity).

Day 3 — Barcelona → Girona → Collioure/Perpignan (cross into France)

Morning: Transfer by coach / regional train to Girona (brief walking tour).

Midday: Continue to Catalan coast → Perpignan or seaside Collioure (France).

Afternoon: Coastal cultural walk, local art history talk.

Evening: Group debrief & cultural reflection.

Day 4 — Collioure / Perpignan → Arles

Morning: Scenic coastal time (short beach activity if schedule allows).

Afternoon: Travel inland to Arles (Roman heritage, Van Gogh sites). Guided walking tour + photography exercise.

Evening: Overnight in Arles or nearby student lodging.

Day 5 — Nîmes & Pont du Gard

Morning: Transfer to Nîmes — Roman Arena visit (guided).

Afternoon: Visit Pont du Gard (UNESCO, interpretive group activity).

Evening: Travel to Avignon or Carcassonne for overnight (depending on routing choice).

Day 6 — Medieval Carcassonne

Morning: Guided tour of the Cité de Carcassonne (castle, ramparts). Educational treasure hunt for students.

Afternoon: Skills‑based workshop (medieval crafts or history interpretation).

Evening: Overnight in Carcassonne or nearby.

Day 7 — Return towards Barcelona (stops en route)

Morning: Depart Carcassonne → stop at local market / small town for cultural immersion.

Afternoon: Arrive back in the Barcelona region. Free time on the beach or supervised local exchange with a school or community group (optional).

Evening: Free / prepare for final program days.

Day 8 — Barcelona: Museums & Service Learning

Morning: Museum visit (Picasso Museum or MACBA) — student guided prompts + worksheet.

Afternoon: Beach games or supervised environmental service activity (e.g., small beach cleanup).

Evening: Flamenco show or intercultural performance night.

Day 9 — Barcelona: Reflection & Last Activities

Morning: Student presentations: "What I learned" (groups prepare short presentations).

Afternoon: Shopping, souvenir time, last museum or architectural stop.

Evening: Final group dinner with certificate presentation & closing ceremony.

Day 10 — Depart Barcelona → USA

Morning: Pack & check‑out. Transfer to BCN for return flight to BWI.

Evening / next day: Arrival at BWI (depending on flight). End of program.

  • Organised free-time can be arranged 
  • Optionals to be chosen and made part of the Itinerary and overall tour
